'Spirit of the Game' is a landmark animated graphic novel/movie project which uniquely brings Sir Stanley Matthews into the modern world of US-based professional soccer. In the beginning Stan's ghost returns, to mentor a young player, Jamie Steele, who's fine soccer talents are being increasingly undermined by the prevailing gang-driven culture around him. Yet under Stan's wise tutelage the young Jamie grows up to become a sporting legend in his own right, somewhat of a David Beckham figure in his time. Ultimately, the mature Jamie finds himself facing the most important kick of his entire life - one which puts all of Stan's guidance to an ultimate test!
